New Forest Sportive
Oops - it seems that the link the previous post may not work - just log into YouTube and search on Wiggle Super Series New Forest Spring Sportive.
Training in the New Forest
Back in April Dave and Richard decided that time was going by too fast and no real bike training was being done so they signed up to do the Wiggle Sportive in the New Forest.
It was a very well organised, joyful day - 56 miles through some amazing scenery with lots of colourful cyclists. They even managed to include a 25% hill in the route - which was a bit of a nasty surprise!
Wiggle sponsor a whole season of different Sportive events in the South and South West of England.

Bodinnick Ferry - Tour of Cornwall 2010
If you are reading this then you will have found a way to get to the LEJOG 2011 blog I set up last July.
When I get the hang of it the detailed route will be posted, but, in the meantime, I hope to finalise the route cards soon and shall send copies of the 21 days to each of you.
Just to check whether you have all succeeded in logging on please leave a short message, even if it is just your name.
Mick

How it all started.
It's been 3 (or is it 4?) years in the planning, if not the training, and next year the ride is for real.
Nine cyclists who rode together 40-50 years ago (plus the son of one of them) are taking a leisurely 3 weeks to celebrate their coming of age, sometimes known as retirement, senior citizens or "joining the wrinklies."
The accommodation is booked, mainly at Youth Hostels in England and Scotland, and the back up team, two of the wives, are planning their visits to garden centres and craft shops.
As this is my first attempt at setting up a blog, it is a steep learning curve (a bit like some of the hills we can look forward to!)
More later when I have found out whether I've done this right or not.
